ProStereo S-Series floor-standing speakers in natural walnut finish

S-Series Reference Speakers

The S-Series represents the pinnacle of loudspeaker design at ProStereo. Our floor-standing models deliver full-range sound with authority, while our bookshelf speakers offer the same tonal accuracy in a compact form factor suited to smaller rooms and near-field listening.

Every S-Series cabinet is handcrafted from sustainably sourced solid walnut or white oak, chosen not only for their beauty but for their acoustic properties. Curved internal bracing eliminates standing waves, while constrained-layer damping keeps the cabinet inert so you hear only the music.

At the heart of each speaker lies our proprietary driver technology. Beryllium dome tweeters provide effortless high-frequency extension, custom-wound midrange drivers capture the warmth of vocals and acoustic instruments, and our long-throw woofers deliver deep, controlled bass without port turbulence.

Key Features

Proprietary Driver Technology

Beryllium dome tweeters and custom-wound voice coils deliver ultra-low distortion across the entire frequency range, from the deepest bass to shimmering highs.

Handcrafted Hardwood Cabinets

Solid walnut and white oak enclosures are individually shaped and finished by our master woodworkers, providing superior resonance control and timeless aesthetics.

Extended Frequency Range

With response reaching from 28Hz to 40kHz, the S-Series reproduces the full audible spectrum and beyond, capturing harmonics and spatial cues often lost by lesser designs.

Bi-Wire Terminals

Gold-plated bi-wire binding posts allow separate cable runs for low and high-frequency sections, reducing intermodulation and unlocking finer detail.

Precision Crossover Network

Audiophile-grade capacitors and air-core inductors ensure seamless driver integration with phase-coherent transitions between frequency bands.

Adjustable Spiked Feet

Floor-standing models include machined stainless-steel spikes with protective discs, mechanically coupling the cabinet to the floor for tighter bass response.

Frequently Asked Questions

For best results, position each speaker at least 60 cm from the rear wall and 40 cm from side walls. Angle them inward so the tweeters converge slightly behind your listening position, forming an equilateral triangle. Experiment with toe-in angle to fine-tune imaging and tonal balance for your room.
We recommend approximately 80 to 100 hours of normal listening to fully break in the S-Series drivers. During this period, the spider and surround materials loosen and settle, resulting in smoother bass response and improved midrange openness. You will notice gradual improvements over the first few weeks.
The S-Series floor-standing speakers perform best in rooms of 20 to 60 square metres. In smaller spaces, their bass output may overwhelm the room. For rooms under 15 square metres, we recommend our bookshelf models, which share the same driver technology in a more compact enclosure optimised for near-field listening.
Bi-wiring separates the signal paths for low-frequency and high-frequency drivers, reducing electromagnetic interaction between the cable runs. Many listeners report tighter bass, cleaner treble, and improved soundstage depth. To bi-wire, remove the jumper plates on the binding posts and run separate cable pairs from your amplifier to each terminal pair.
